Child Custody

Child Custody disputes are often the primary source of trauma in a divorce for both parents and children. Before the divorce, parents have easy access to  their children without limitation. Since the filing of the divorce or seperation, that access has become limited.

It is usually better for the child if the spouses can negotiate a custody agreement.  This demonstrates to the child that even though the child's parents are not living together, they can still work together cooperatively for child's best interests.

It is possible to negotiate a custody agreement given domestic violence in the relationship or and/or drug or alcohol abuse issues.

Resources and services are available to provide safe environments or havens for the child(ren) to visit with the other parent.

Silverman & Silverman accepts many high-conflict, child custody cases, whether there are often years of animosity between the parents, or newly developed tensions.

Some of these cases are referred by other family law attorneys who believe that Mr. Silverman has the experience, ability and training to stabilize the case. Some are referred by other clients.

Regardless of the source of the referral, Silverman & Silverman will attempt to stabilize and settle your case. If litigation is the answer, Alan R. Silverman will aggressively litigate your case through trial.
